The Young Professionals Networking Event is your opportunity to network and connect with other young professionals in the materials handling and supply chain industry (wear your ProMat 2023 badge to enjoy complimentary entry).
WERC Connects Panel Discussion: Growth Through Disruption (Tuesday, March 21 | 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM)
With seemingly ever-present threat of supply chain disruption looming, representatives from Penguin Random House, Finish Line, Mattel, and PFS present a timely panel discussion that aims to share their pandemic-driven experiences in building a resilient supply chain.
What to do in Chicago after ProMat 2023
As promised, if you’re looking to escape the conference venue, here’s what those in the know suggest:
The Art Institute of Chicago ($$)
Founded in 1879, the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the oldest, largest, and most popular art museums in the world, with approximately 1.5 million visitors annually. While general admission tickets are affordable, they are sparse.
Cloud Gate at Millenium Park (Free)
Cloud Gate is the enormous mirrored “bean” sculpture by Indian-born British artist, Anish, Kapoor, that sits at the center of Millennium Park in Chicago. Both admission to the park and the sculpture itself are free to the public.
VU Rooftop ($$$)
With an ingredient and beverage driven menu and 360-degree views of the lake and downtown, this 13,000 square foot concept (conveniently located next door to McCormick Place) boasts a truly breathtaking dining experience!
Chinese American Museum of Chicago ($)
Weekday hours of admission are confusing and unlikely to work conveniently with your schedule, but the suggested donation amount for admission is only $8! However, Chinatown is less than a mile from McCormick Place; we suggest taking a stroll up Cermak—you’ll get a peak at Michigan Avenue’s Motor Row, Bertrand Goldberg’s Hilliard Towers, and the entrance of “old Chinatown” (the Chinese American Museum is a few blocks past).
MHI Industry Night with Nate Bargatze (Free)
While MHI Industry Night at ProMat is dedicated to recognizing the 2023 MHI Innovation Award winners, Nate Bargatze, recognized as one of Esquire’s ‘Best New Comedians’ by Jim Gaffigan, will be serving up laughs as the evening’s featured entertainer!
